It’s This Easy

You Make A Difference
So much can happen in under a minute. It does not seem like a very long time at all, considering the way that minutes often seem to fly by without our noticing them. Time really does fly when we are having fun, and it can also really drag when we are not. However, it also can do something really strange. When really important things happen time can seem to stop or slow down as we give our full concentration. It all depends upon your perspective.
If you are not sure that you really can make a difference in the world, if it seems impossible for you, then this section is a good place to start your personal transformation. You make a difference. Time is the great equalizer. Although we may live for various amounts of time, we each have the same amount of time in the day, the hour, the minute. Even if you do not have a single dime to spare, or a single hour, you probably can figure out a way to spare one minute a day to help the world in some way. When you really think about it, the world is changed in seconds all the time. It only takes a second or two to sign a peace treaty or declare war, to sign a mortgage agreement or other legal contract, to say “I do,” to say “I quit,” to say, “Let’s try it,” to say “Forget it,” to swerve your car around a pedestrian or animal… Some of the most important things that happen in our world and in our lives, good or bad, happen in a second or two. It only took a second and a brilliant flash of light to level a city. It only took a second for the first piece of the Berlin Wall to fall to the ground, signaling a whole new era. You have probably heard of the “Shot heard ‘round the world” that started the American Revolution. You get the idea.
When you start to look at the history of the world, and of your life within it, as a succession of seconds and minutes (which it truly is), you become empowered because EVERYONE can spare one extra minute a day to improve the world. Can you imagine what the overall difference would be if all six billion people on the planet started spending one extra minute a day to pick up those few extra bits of trash, write that Thank You card, send that complimentary email, hold the door for someone, etc. It’s great that there are people out there who dedicate their entire lives to public service, and we need people like that. However, what we need even more is the cumulative effect of everyone doing a little. More gets accomplished when everyone does a little than when only a few do a lot. Let’s get started with specific things you can do in certain increments of time, all of which are FREE – That’s right. Zip / Zero / Zilch, NO DOLLARS / POUNDS / PESOS / RUBLES / MARKS – $0 !
