Leave an encouraging note for someone in your home or workplace. The morning mood can often set the tone of the day. Leaving a note for someone to find in the morning can really make that person’s day productive, happy, and successful. You can leave a card, or just a hand-written message on a scrap of paper. You can put it on his or her desk, dresser, on the door, in a lunch bag, or just about anywhere where it is sure to be found: “You will be great today,” “Today will be awesome,” “Have a wonderful morning,” or any other message that works for that person. This takes no time at all, but it can truly set someone up to do exceptional things and make important changes in the world.

Leave your newspaper or magazine where someone else can find and read it (bus, train, restaurant, waiting room, etc.). There is no reason to waste a perfectly good paper or magazine once you are finished with it. Someone will probably appreciate the reading material. Furthermore, you can collect these things and donate them to kids’ art programs, which always need magazines for collage and drawing reference, and newspapers for paper mache and to put down to catch spills. If nothing else, you can try to recycle these materials so that they are not totally wasted.
