Anonymously Pay For A Stranger’s Coffee, Donut,

Or Drive-Through Order With The Message

 “Pay It Forward”

Pay it forward

This is a classic.  People do this often, but not often enough.  A mere $5 is not going to send most of us into the poor house, not matter how much we are made to be frightened about our economy and such.  There are many things we could spend $5 on that have NO chance of helping ANYONE, so why not spend that $5 in a way that may do some good?  The chances of making that person’s day are pretty good.  You may even change that person’s whole attitude about other people.  We never know just how people will react, but it’s pretty easy to predict a good reaction versus a bad one.  It’s not likely that the recipient will be offended or somehow upset.  When you pay for the person behind you in line, you are probably going to generate an attitude of gratitude, which can make all the difference in that person’s day.  Furthermore, there is a pretty good chance that they WILL pay it forward in some way.

Anonymous generosity, no matter how small, is a great way to break monotony, give hope, inspire kindness, and do many other great things.  Each recipient will react a bit differently, but it always seems to be good.  There have been stories in newspapers about people who did this one specific thing and launched local movements of hundreds of people paying for strangers.  Even if you can only afford to do it once a month, this is a great way to make a difference in a fun way.
