Card Me In The Park

July 17th, 2010 from 2pm – 6pm

Please join us at South Park in Pittsburgh, PA on Saturday, July 17 from 2pm to 6pm for FREE incredibly delicious food and beautiful music. All you need for admission is an unused or partially unused gift card to donate. With the help of www.giftcardgiver.com , a non-profit that collects gift cards and re-gives them to people and organizations in need, we are collecting gift cards for www.conflictkitchen.org , Pittsburgh’s community-based food project that fosters international dialogue.

There will be four very talented bands and a DJ providing live music and entertainment: Steel Hollow Band, Dream Job, Bear Cub, Gene Stovall, Liquid Flair Entertainment, and Steve from PROSOUND DJ’s. Food and drinks will be provided, “Pay it Forward” bracelets will be handed out, and there will be lots of information on how you can make a difference every day.

Over $8 billion dollars in gift cards goes unused every year in the United States. Can you imagine what we could do with an extra $8 Billion for charities in this country? Gift Card Giver will take any gift card, even if it only has five cents left on it. They’ve been able to help children get school supplies, a family replace Christmas presents that were stolen, and provide phone cards to children rescued from child trafficking. With your help, Gift Card Giver will be able to provide Conflict Kitchen with the means to continue serving good food to the people of Pittsburgh and putting on events that help break down intercultural divides.

ALSO, there will be a FREE shuttle bus from the Shadow Lounge to South Park that will leave on every hour for your convenience.

Please take a few hours to bring your friends and family to this fun and free event and you’ll see how easy it can be to give for good.

Directions to the Bright Star Pavilian in South Park – Follow Route 88 ( Library Road ) to the entrance of South Park. Follow Corrigan Road to the first stop light ( about one mile ) and you will see the Bright Star Pavilian on the right.
